I am a pun-genius!

I've actually heard too much of the Kaiser Chiefs lately, I brought the album (Employment) with me to a friend's house abroad and he defiantly overplayed it! They were still brilliant when I saw them live at Oxegen though, I think I just need a break from them. I overplayed The Killers album Hot Fuss late last year, Franz Ferdinand last autumn, and Muse's Absolution last summer.

Franz Ferdinand's new album (With the same name as the first) is out in around a month, that's the next album I'm looking forward too. They play Dublin with Scissor Sisters and Maroon 5 next Wednesday but I decided to go see Weezer instead.

I got Black Eyed Peas new album Monkey Business yesterday, I was never a big fan but I much prefer the sound to 2003's Elephant, and it's sorta relaxed so maybe it'll become one of my regular listened to trip-hop albums. Reminds me I need to find more Aim albums.

I also bought another band I saw at Oxegen's album - Maxïmo Park's A Certain Trigger this week, and it was a special edition which came with a live CD which was pretty neat. I haven't listened enough to judge it properly yet, but initial thoughts are good and I love the accents.

I mentioned I'd been away. I can't let this blog die like before!
As the school year ended, I was sort of in shock at the prospect of 3 months off to do nothing. Three months is a quarter of a year! With nothing at all planned for June, I'm starting to see some days wasted away, with nothing to look forward to but going to Oxegen.
Speaking of which, Simon has friends from EYP (European Youth Parliament) coming over from Norway and Sweeden just to go to Oxegen with him. They've got their tickets, and booked their flights - but Simon never picked up a ticket and now Oxegen has sold out. He's away until July, and left me the money to try get him a ticket, and I'm finding it impossible. If anyone out there happens to be able to hook me up with a camping ticket for the weekend, I'd love you long time. I've even entered all the competitions for tickets that I've seen, browsed the ridiculously priced ones on eBay, and tried Buy & Sell and the boards.ie tickerts for sale board.

On the last of school, we had a "going away party" (AKA knacker-drinking on Killieny Beach) for Adrian, a French guy in my year who was returning home. Mad night, it was - we ended up a house party in Coolock, opposite side of the city. It must have taken a hour to get there. I got slagged and called a D4 :p.

There was supposed to be some sort of a 3 Day hike from Wicklow to Carlow, but like most things my friends plan, wasn't organised properly, and was "posponed", Annoyingly - I know it's never going to happen.
I had around 8 people over for a BBQ on Thursday... Should have made it a BBBQ (Where the extra 'B' stands for BYOB), I could have done with a drink as everyone ended up staying the night, but surprisingly I found room for them all.

Music recommendations! Not something I usually do in my blogs, but here we go.
Lately, I've been listning to The White Stripes' Get Behind Me Satan a lot, and although I'm more tollerant of them than most people, I think those who aren't usually fans could like this album. It's like a nice mix between 2003's Elephant and their older stuff like and The White Stripes and De Stijl, there's more variation in instruments too, while still keeping the minimalistic approach to music. Around half the songs are rock (My favourite being the first single - Blue Orchid) and around half are folk-like (Little Ghost is my favourite of these).

It's not new, but Modest Mouse's latest album Good News for People Who Love Bad News is back on my regular-play list since I got a friend into them, and he kept playing it. I absolutely love every song on that album, it's hard to pick a favourite as I tend to over-play one, then move onto another quickly!

Also worth mentioning are Stereophonics' Language Sex Violence Other? and Weezer's Make Believe. I'm being different and giving the thumbs-down to Coldplay's latest X&Y, I did like their first two albums, but this one isn't different enough for me.

I've just got the new albums by Röyksopp (The Understanding) and Foo Fighters (In Your Honor), so I'll post my opinion on them soon.

Fish!

This post should have been here a month ago (had the blog been?) but I've also only found out how to get images off my phone and onto the internetz.
James, Simon and I all partly caught this the morning after Simon's 18th (I did little though, it was my rod :P)

Welcome

Wow, this has to be what, the fourth time I've started a new blog?
Let's see how long this one will last.
